Visited at the end of a tour around Sri Lanka. We had a really nice cabin with a really comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. Since we both need to eat gluten free, the manager and chef took really good care of us, serving us safe and very tasty food. The area is really quiet at night and the pool is nice as well. Much nicer than staying in negombo in my opinion.

Perfect stay at the Karanukarala Ayurveda resort, especially the Ayurveda treatment was wonderful. In the beginning, the crew told me it was fully booked, but in the end, they managed to schedule it for me. The room was big, and really clean and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there, especially to relax (recommend the yoga and meditation classes).

Just a lovely resort, just along the river and on very green grounds! The staff were super friendly and helpful and kindly gave us an upgrade and the chalets were simply gorgeous and had very fancy toilets. We rented brand new bicycles from the hotel and cycled out to the little fishing villages of the surrounding beaches and out to see the tile factories. The resort offers different treatments and yoga sessions.

Everything about Karunakarala was exactly what I needed and wanted - the cottages, the doctor, the treatments, the therapists, the yoga, the grounds, the magic of starting the day before dawn with a build up of strange bird calls with a great yoga master and as the sun rose the Buddhist monks across the river chanted. But above all was the staff, each being so kind and pleasant and there for you and ready to go far out of their way to help with any problems and difficulties.

the staff of the KAR were excellent, very kind and sophisticated, as well eager to please guests, especially a young Ayurveda Doctor Sharmila who personalized my diet and treatments, this is what I like the most, then the Ayurveda treatments they provided, which were rejuvenating and pleasant, then the food was excellent, very tasty and rejuvenating, too, I was offered cooking demonstration by the main resort chef, although a young guy, he was very skillful and superb cook.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It's clean and comfortable to be there. A picturesque place, you can take beautiful photos or relax by the pool. There is a restaurant and a spa. Special thanks to Fernando, he helped with any questions. Very responsive and pleasant person. I advise you to visit this hotel if you are tired of the noise and want to enjoy the silence. And the caring staff will do everything to make your stay at the hotel pleasant.

Beautifully set on the river, the entire resort is quite cosy and beautiful. Food was good, treatments were good, room was quite lovely.

It's a picturesque calm place with a lot of birds and chipmunks. Breakfasts were quit big and tasty. House was cute, with stable Wi-Fi connection for watching movies (but for videocalls sometimes it can have low speed)
